About Astrid & Miyu
The jewellery brand was founded by Connie Nam in 2012 after moving to London. Connie, who grew up in Washington D.C. and Seoul, used her experience of working in luxury branding and investment banking in Hong Kong to establish Astrid & Miyu as a rising fashion symbol. Astrid and Miyu are both names meaning beautiful in Swedish, Astrid, and Japanese, Miyu, two countries from which the style of the brand takes inspiration. Since launching their first products, the company name has spread through fashion circles and won the respect of critics, being awarded a place on 'HOT100' by Professional Jewellery (2015), 'Ones to watch' by Management Today (2014) and Smarta 100 winner for the Female Entrepreneur category (2014), as well as being shortlisted for the ‘Brand to watch’ at the UK Jewellery Awards in 2015. Along with the awards, celebrities such as Georgia May Jagger, Pippa Middleton and Jessie J have been seen wearing jewellery by Astrid & Miyu.
